Prerequisites

48-Hour INITIAL B737-800 TYPE RATING

TYPE RATING PREREQUISITES:

Applicants must successfully complete all the requirements of Subject Module No. 0, Distance Learning prior to beginning ground training.

 

 

1)      To complete all the training and testing for an Unlimited B737 Type Rating and an ATP certificate in a Level C or Level D flight simulator –

 

The applicant must meet at least one of the following prerequisites:

 

a.       Hold a Type Rating for a multiengine turbine-powered airplane.

b.       Have been appointed by a military service as a PIC in a multiengine Turbine-powered airplane.

c.       Have at least 2000-Hours of flight time, of which 500-Hours must be in turbine-powered multiengine airplanes.

d.       Have at least 500-Hours of flight time in the B737-NG.

e.       Have at least 1000-Hours of flight time in at least two different turbojet airplanes requiring a Type Rating.

 

If one of the above criteria cannot be met; then:

 

2)      To complete all the training and testing for a B737 Type Rating with a 25 Hour Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) Limitation and an ATP certificate in a Level C or Level D flight simulator –

 

The applicant must meet the following prerequisites:

 

a.       A Private Pilot Certificate*, Commercial Certificate*, or ATP Certificate*,

b.       with Airplane Multiengine Land Rating, and*

c.       an Instrument Rating*

 

*   May include foreign equivalent pilot’s license pursuant to 14 CFR section’s 61.153 and 61.75. Student must provide a valid FAA foreign pilot verification letter issued by AFS-760.

80 hour INITIAL B737-800 TYPE RATING

 

TYPE RATING PREREQUISITES:

This Initial B-737 type rating curriculum could have two different results dependent upon the applicant’s entry prerequisites:

1)  Unlimited Type Rating or    

2)  Type Rating with a 25 hour SOE limitation.

 

To complete all the training and testing for an Unlimited B737-NG Type Rating and an ATP certificate in a Level C or Level D flight simulator the applicant must meet at least one of the following prerequisites:

 

a.       Hold a Type Rating for a multiengine turbine-powered airplane.

b.       Have been appointed by a military service as a PIC in a multiengine Turbine-powered airplane.

c.       Have at least 2000-Hours of flight time, of which 500-Hours must be in turbine-powered multiengine airplanes.

d.       Have at least 500-Hours of flight time in the B737-NG.

32 hour INITIAL B737-800 TYPE RATING

TYPE RATING PREREQUISITES:

To complete all training and testing for a B-737 Type Rating and, if eligible, an ATP certificate in a Level C or Level D flight simulator –

 

The applicant must meet or hold at least one of the following:

 

a.       Must have logged at least 500 hrs as an SIC in the B737.

b.       Must have logged at least 100 hrs as an SIC in the B737 in the past 12 months.

c.       Must have logged at least 50 hrs as an SIC in the B737 in the last 6 months.

d.       Completed a B737 Initial Core Training Course within the past 24 months.

 

The applicant meeting these prerequisites and completing this approved curriculum may be issued a B737 Type Rating.

 

AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT CERTIFICATE PREREQUISITES:

The applicant must comply with the below mentioned FAR’s:

14 CFR 61.153 – Eligibility Requirements: General

14 CFR 61.155 – Aeronautical Knowledge (Written Test)

14 CFR 61.159 – Aeronautical Experience – Airplane Category Rating (Unrestricted Only)

14 CFR 61.160 – Aeronautical Experience – Airplane Category Restricted Privileges (Restricted Only)
